What is Jabber IM Support?

Jabber IM Support is simply instant messaging. Instant messaging (IM) is an Internet service offered by various providers that allow registered users to send text messages (and other things) to one another in 'real time' - hence, the "instant" part. Synapsis Jabber IM support is IM using the Jabber protocol hosted on a server by SK Enterprises. Using Synapsis Jabber IM Support allows you to submit support requests to SK Enterprises support personnel instantly, and (hopefully) have your problem or complaint resolved on the spot.


How do I use Jabber IM Support>

This is basically a three step process.

  1. You must request and receive a Synapsis JabberID. Just fill out and submit this form to obtain your Synapsis JabberID. Your Synapsis JabberID will be of the form someid@skenterprises.net. You should receive your Synapsis JabberID within a few hours of submitting the request.
  2. You also will need a Jabber Client. A client is an application through which you can login to the Synapsis JabberIM server. The are many Jabber clients, which operate in the same ways as AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN Messenger. The big difference is those clients are proprietary and only allow you to connect to their service through their servers. Many Jabber clients will provide you with the ability to connect to a variety of services, like AIM, Yahoo and MSN (you should be aware that the proprietary IM services often work to block access to clients other than their own proprietary client and that cross-connection may not be available to some services).
  3. After you have received your Synapsis JabberID and installed your Jabber client, you must logon to our Jabber server. How you do this varies depending on your Jabber client, but in all cases, you must specify skenterprises.net as your "Server" and your Synapsis JabberID as your "Screen name." Once you have logged onto the Synapsis Jabber server, just add support@skenterprises.net to your buddy list. If Jabber Support is available, you should see support@skenterprises.net online. To make a support request, simply send an instant message to support@skenterprises.net.
